JUBA RELEASED A SERIES TWO OF THE ASSURANCE PODCAST, CELEBRATING WOMEN DJS FROM GLOBAL SOUTH

DJ Juba, who is based in Berlin, has launched a second series of her podcast, “Assurance,” which focuses on female DJs from underdeveloped countries.

Juba talks with Cape Town-based DJ Gina Jeanz in the first episode of the new series, which was released this week. They talk about the music and nightlife culture in South Africa, as well as concerns like gender-based violence in Gina Jeanz’s hometown.

The podcast’s second series will include future installments from Kenyan DJ Coco Em and Medelln’s Julianna, with a new edition coming every Monday.

This new series will look at how the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced local club communities in cities throughout the world, covering countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, and also the music and nightlife scenes, as well as socio-economic challenges, in each DJ’s native city.

Juba spoke with Kampire, Badsista, Valesuchi, and others in the first series of Assurance, which aired earlier this year.
