Kanye West (Ye) Cleans Up His Instagram

Ye is making a new start. On Monday (Nov. 29), fans of the musician formerly known as Kanye West were surprised when the rapper’s Instagram was devoid of all photos.

It’s unclear whether Ye just archived or deleted all of his postings, but his 9.5 million followers were met with the words “No posts yet” on a stark white background to match his blank, black profile photo.

Of course, Ye has always had a tumultuous connection with social media, however, it’s his Twitter account that gets deactivated and reactivated on a regular basis. In recent days, the “Praise God” rapper has continued his public quest for reconciliation with ex-wife Kim Kardashian through a publicly aired Thanksgiving prayer on Instagram Stories.

Over the weekend, he also shared a Sunday Service Choir rendition of Adele’s latest No. 1 song “Easy on Me,” which he devoted to the remembrance of his late friend.

Ye’s decision to clean up his social media comes on the heels of a flurry of Grammy nominations. While DONDA, his long-awaited 2021 album, was reportedly a late addition to the EP of the year race, along with rival Taylor Swift’s Evermore, the rapper also garnered nods for best melodic rap performance (for “Hurricane” featuring The Weeknd and Lil Baby), best rap track (for “Jail” featuring Jay-Z), and best rap album.
