KANYE WEST’S NAME HAS BEEN LEGALLY CHANGED TO ‘YE’

Following months of paperwork after filing for the change in August, Kanye West has now officially changed his legal name to ‘Ye.’

The name change was initially reported by TMZ when they obtained what were said to be legal records yesterday, October 18, which showed a document that read: “Petitioner (current name): Kanye Omari West.”

Now comes the mononymous Ye has completed his long-awaited mission, which he had hinted at for years. In 2018, the rapper considered changing his name for the first time.

Ye appeared on Big Boy TV in the same year to discuss his album, ‘Ye.’

According to TMZ, Ye originally filed for a name change on August 24 of this year. The rapper has requested a legal change in Los Angeles, according to the celebrity news outlet.

Kim Kardashian’s surname still includes the rapper’s former last name, West. Despite the couple’s recent divorce, she used the surname in a recent Saturday Night Live appearance.

Kim and Kanye filed the divorce in February of this year, and their four children, North, Psalm, Saint, and Chicago, now share custody.
