Kehlani has revealed the title of their third studio album “Blue Water Road” with the unveiling of a spectacular new teaser video. Although no official date has been set, the follow-up to 2020’s It Was Good Until It Wasn’t will be unveiled this winter.
The singer — who uses the pronouns she/they — rises from the rubble with a fractured leg in the trailer.
In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Kehlani discussed her ideas for Blue Water Road. Last September, they wrote it at a Malibu AirBnB with a group of close friends and collaborators. They had originally gathered for what they assumed would be only bonus songs for the It Was Good deluxe version.
Kehlani completed the album in a different rental home with Andrew “Pop” Wansel, describing the new tracks as “lighter” in tone than the previous effort.
