Lil Nas X’s Video for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” is Unabashedly Queer

Lil Nas X has unveiled a new single called “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” which comes with a provocative video directed by Tanu Muino.

The out rapper and singer then takes us to Montero, a fantasy land named after him (Montero Lamar Hill), where he can openly share his sexuality. The video features a makeout session with an alien version of himself, a Marie Antoinette-themed stoning, and a lap dance with the Devil, among other scenes inspired by history and mythology.

The video for “Call Me By Your Name” was released alongside a letter to his 14-year-old self by Lil Nas X.

In December, Lil Nas X launched a Christmas-themed video for his song “Holiday.” In 2019, he released his debut EP.
