Phoebe Bridgers Confirmed the Release of “Sidelines”

“Sidelines,” a new single by Phoebe Bridgers, is on the way. It premieres on Friday (April 15) alongside Hulu’s serial version of Sally Rooney’s novel Conversations With Friends.

The latest release from Bridgers is “Sidelines,” her first new material since she released Punisher in 2020, followed by the Copycat Killer album later that year. Bridgers teamed up Bright Eyes for a cover of Elliott Smith’s “St. Ides Heaven” after collaborating with Conor Oberst on a rework of Bright Eyes’ “Haligh, Haligh, a Lie, Haligh.” Last year, she performed a version of Tom Waits’ “Day After Tomorrow” as a fundraiser for the International Institute of Los Angeles’ Local Integration & Family Empowerment Division.

Bridgers also announced a monthly radio show on SiriusXM and recorded an acoustic rendition of Punisher’s “Chinese Satellite” for Secretly Canadian’s 25th anniversary. She’ll tour North America and Europe through the end of August after performing at Coachella this weekend.
