According to local media, Wavy Navy Pooh, a Miami rapper, was murdered in an ambush while driving with two small children and a woman.
The two children, aged 5 and 1, as well as the woman, were confirmed to be uninjured. Miami Herald and WPLG-TV reported that 28-year-old Shandler Beaubien (Miami rapper’s real name) was stopped at a light on January 14th evening, Friday when another car pulled along and the offender shot him.
The victim’s identity has not been disclosed by police, but Quality Control, the rapper’s record label, claimed it was him, according to WPLG-TV. There have been no arrests yet.
Beaubien is famous for his “M.I.A.M.I. (Murder is a Major Issue)” song. Its clip captures him flashing a handgun, an arranged murder scenario, and recordings of police officers at real shooting locations.
According to the Herald, Beaubien has been shot in the leg during a drive-by shooting two years ago.
