Sia has unveiled a new music video for “Floating Through Space,” her latest collaboration with David Guetta, which was created in collaboration with NASA to commemorate the forthcoming Ingenuity test flight on Mars.
The Ingenuity Mars Helicopter is an important part of NASA JPL’s Perseverance mission, which landed on Mars successfully on February 18th. NASA has stated that the Ingenuity copter will be tested no later than April 11th, marking the first attempt at powered, controlled flight on another planet.
The new video for “Floating Through Space” features footage of NASA researchers working on the Perseverance project, including building and testing the Ingenuity helicopter. The video also includes several classic Pop-Up Video-style bubbles that include extra information about all that’s going on with the landmark test.
The film received mixed reviews, with some criticizing the portrayal of neurotypical actress Maddie Ziegler as a nonverbal autistic woman and the film’s representations of autism, such as one scene in which Ziegler’s character is restrained in a prone position.
