The label will also not pursue the greatest amount of digital streams. always Centered at night disregards what Moby describes as the “current, fear-driven, algorithmic-based culture,” and claims to be a ‘new type of record label.’
Moby partners with producer Aynzil Jones on the label’s debut release, ‘medusa,’ to convey the idea of giving a platform for creatives in which they can freely express themselves.
always centered at night is a virtual record label whose releases are exclusively digital; nevertheless, Moby has not counted out the distribution of complex versions “at some point.” Nonetheless, he highlights that the label’s objective is to locate a small number of enthusiastic listeners who find the music by “really discovering it”.
