Following their smash hit “Dynamite” from last August, BTS has released their second English-language track, “Butter.” The guys made buttered-up sandwiches and discussed the album, which they characterised as “charismatic” and hoped would “melt your hearts like butter,” during a YouTube preview before releasing the accompanying video.
The superstar septet — RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jung Kook, V, Jimin, and Jin — appear in black-and-white suits before switching to colour as they dance, sing, and rap in the video for “Butter.” They take turns grooving in an elevator, dancing together in a gymnasium, and performing onstage under the pulsating lights. They sing about being “smooth like butter” and getting a “superstar glow” on the upbeat, flirty dance track.
On Sunday, BTS will perform “Butter” live for the first time at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.
