Magdalena Bay is shown in the video “Hysterical Us” grappling with existential dread while on a road trip

A clip from Magdalena Bay’s upcoming first album “Hysterical Us” depicts the band embarking on a crazy minivan trip.

“Hysterical Us” is about fears, paranoias, and existential thoughts, according to Magdalena Bay in a statement. The song’s dark undertones are countered with dreamy synthesizers, sleek guitar riffs, and pounding drumming, and the huge piano portion in the chorus even gives it a yacht rock feel.

Magdalena Bay collaborated with the Milagros Collective on a video for “Hysterical Us” in New Orleans, where the duo’s mundane van journey is interrupted by a wormhole into a hallucinogenic new realm.
Magdalena Bay remarked, they loved being able to interpret all these heavy questions through the colorful world of Milagros Collective.

“Hysterical Us” is Mercurial World’s fourth release, after Chaeri, Secrets (Your Fire) and You Lose!.
The album will be released on October 8th, following Magdalena Bay’s 2020 EP a Wicked Feeling and A Little Rhythm.
