Tainy reveals New Album With ‘Black Mirror’

As a teenager, Tainy started out making music for major reggaeton acts. Over the years, he creates tracks for everyone from J Balvin to Shawn Mendes. He’s currently working on his debut album, which will release later this year, and he’s just shared the first look of it with “Lo Siento BB:/,” a surprising collaboration with Bad Bunny and Julieta Venegas.

Several fans were startled to find Venegas on the tune, whose indie rock helped define Latin alt-pop in the 2000s. Venegas, on the other hand, has already performed alongside rappers such as Daddy Yankee and Ana Tijoux, as social media users pointed out. Tainy’s tinselly, melancholy soundscapes compliment her mournful vocals in the tune, which have been one of his trademarks in recent years. With Bad Bunny’s emo verse soars to gloomy, wonderfully emo heights, as a pared-back reggaeton rhythm joins in.

Both Bad Bunny and Venegas have upcoming live concerts: Venegas has a few shows planned for November, while Bad Bunny will resume his El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo tour in February after it was postponed due to Covid-19. Tainy, Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico has received four Latin Grammy nominations for his work on Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo, the single “Dákiti,” and the J Balvin-led ballad “Agua.”
